A pair of almost-parallel tropical waves may be on track to merge in the coming days in the Caribbean.
The National Hurricane Center projects a 70% chance of the interaction producing a tropical depression over the next 5 days.
The system is currently moving at 15 to 20 mph on a west-northwest tracking across the central and western portions of the tropical Atlantic.
