With little to do on a glum Thursday afternoon, I decided to tackle setting up automatic quarterly dues payments on the Leland Management website.
Leland is Marsh Creek’s new management company. If you haven’t yet set up an account, that part is simple enough. You add your name and address, etc.
Once your identity and property are verified, and you’ve answered all their questions, you will log back in with your password and be recognized, and receive the Association and Management IDs, and your account number.
(At some point, when you later select your payment option, you will need these three important pieces of data)
- Account Number: YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER
- Association ID: 3172
- Management ID: 6759
Now, you’re registered at Leland.
Next step, do you want to ditch the coupon payments book and set up automatic quarterly deductions?
If you do, the next step is to head up to the top right hand corner of that resident login page you’re on and click on “Make a Payment”.
This opens up another page where you get to select your payment options. To make automatic quarterly recurring bank withdrawals, head down to the bottom right-hand corner of the page to find Alliance Association Bank. (Or the left side for Frontsteps Pay, to use a credit or debit card) Click on the link for your preferred choice to “Make a Payment”.
Here’s where things get trickier. Someone – maybe a committee – didn’t think this one clearly through.
If you’ve chosen to make automatic debit payments from your bank account, what you see next is a page looking suspiciously like the one two steps previous – the one where you already created your Leland account. But it isn’t.
This new page is actually a login for Alliance Association Bank, an institution which doesn’t know you because Leland didn’t tell them about you two pages ago. And since you’ve never signed into their website before, ever, consider yourself a New User. Yup, that means clicking “Setup Account”, and go through another round of enrollment.
When you’re done with that, you can choose to make your automatic quarterly dues payments by e-check or debit/credit card. If you choose e-check, simply get out one of your checks and add the routing and account information into the appropriate spaces. At this point, it’s become easy-peasy!
That part in the middle should not have been that confusing, but, well ………………. what can you say?
Happy Quarterly Payments, Marsh Creek!
When I tried to set up credit card payment last week, a $19.77 “convenience fee” was added to the payment. Lots of money for a few extra travel points!
I did as Eliza described, and it was painless, easy and free. Be sure to select “e-check” for payment, or you may be charged the fee.
Went through the process myself yesterday. Relatively easy. One note, if you pay with a credit card, as I wished to do for the points, I found that there is a $20.00 fee for each payment, so I backed out of that. I then opted to pay by ACH through a checking account and all went smoothly. I got email reminders this morning that the payments will be deducted on 1/5. I like the system so far. If anyone needs help please feel free to call or email and I will help. captain836@aol.com.

I would agree with Eliza. Set up the automatic part from you as payor rather than giving Leland, the payee, your routing number and account number. Anyone with that info can draft from your account. Just my two cents as a bankruptcy attorney!! Nina
Interestingly, I clicked on “Frontsteps Pay” On the left of the screen first. It says for credit/ debit card payments, but I was able to set up direct debit payments from my checking account, not using a card. I didn’t need association id or anything. Seamless.
