Flash Flood Warning Extended, Bridge of Lions Closed, 312 Remains Open

At 11:20 am, the National Weather Service issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for our area, and at mid-afternoon extended the advisory until 9:00 pm this evening.

Water was already pushing into Marsh Creek from the Intracoastal/Matanzas River, creeping out of the marsh onto homeowner back lawns.

High tides peaked at 11:09 am at St. Augustine Beach … and 12:01 at SR 312 and the Matanzas River.

“This is a dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order”.

Flooding in downtown St. Augustine has forced closure of the Bridge of Lions.

The 312 bridge remained open until sustained 45 mph winds trigger a closure.
