A few days ago, it seemed our number was up. We’d gone through this 2024 hurricane season without much of a threat – even Helene spared us. Then suddenly, the atmosphere in the waters off eastern Mexico began brewing and in a flash, we had Hurricane Milton! By yesterday and overnight, the entire state was engulfed in its grip.

And yet, here we are today, pretty much okay and very thankful. It could have been so much worse.

Marsh Creek’s lead damage assessor began work early, once the winds subsided, and allowed for both aerial and terrestrial inspection. As you can see below, this was no simple fly-over, but up close scrutiny.

Soon after, clean up crews were mobilized from their barracks and deployed through the neighborhood. An observer caught one of the teams at work mid-day, each member sweeping left and right in a determined search for storm debris.

As Marsh Creek residents, we can feel thankful and comforted by this quick cleanup response.

The crews, however, do not work quickly although they are thorough. Which means, if you have yard debris and are in a hurry to dispose of it … you will need to sweep it up yourself.
