On Wednesday, February 2nd the first of the Spoonbill Neighbors “Out of the Hood” walks was held. Sue Whittle accompanied by Meri-Kathryn Peed enjoyed the beauty of this hidden gem in nearby Flagler County.

The day was gorgeous and the scenery as well. Princess Palace is a 1,500 acre preserve with an 1886 preserved lodge, the first in ground swimming pool in Florida and 8 hiking trails of 15.8 miles. There is tent camping and cottages as well as launch pads for canoes and kayaks. There is no charge for day use of the park which is open from 7:00-6:00 daily There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen along the trails including birds, dolphins, deer and possibly feral pigs. Sue will be planning another trip soon, so stay tuned.
