Today’s paddle was different from any before it – on the plus side: a creek with nice width and bends, pleasant homes, some lovely old growth trees, especially cypress which were changing color, and some jumping fish and birds; on the negative side it was only 1.5 miles out before deadfalls turned us around and there was more trash in the water and on the banks than we’ve seen before (see Chris’s pic of Stan and his “garbage scow”. Because we finished so early – 10:35 – we skipped lunch and got home early.
