“OPERATION BACKPACK” Update from Louise Nelson
Spoonbill Neighbors Community Outreach has met another goal! Thanks to the generosity of Marsh Creek residents, 35 backpacks of all shapes, sizes and colors, some jammed with an array of much needed school supplies, were delivered to the Homeless Coalition Campus yesterday. Quite an amazing response in such short notice.
The initiative will impact the lives of recently homeless children who have found shelter with their families at the Coalition’s campus in St. Augustine.
“… Thank you so much for setting our kids up for success. You all did a great job and we have everything ready for our kids. When you go to school and you have a new backpack and school supplies you look like everyone else and start on a level playing field. This really means a lot to us and our kids.”

Thank you to Spoonbill Neighbors Members and Marsh Creekers for helping the less fortunate and vulnerable in St. Augustine. Special recognition to Carole & Ron Anzivino, who alone donated twelve backpacks chock-full of supplies and helped in the delivery.
