Share the Feast Thanksgiving Food Drive

By Louise Nelson

Marsh Creek’s Spoonbill Neighbors’ is once again partnering  with St. Johns County Homeless Coalition for the Annual “Share the Feast Thanksgiving Food Drive”.

Melody Ness is spearheading this drive. Many of the bags (donated by Publix) have already been distributed. However, additional contributions are always welcome and needed. If you wish to, please fill up a few of your own bags and drop off to them to Melody by November 7th. Her address is 401 Misty Morning Lane.

Here’s a list of food items needed for a family of 4 for Thanksgiving:

2 Boxes of Instant Mashed Potatoes, 2 boxes of Macaroni & Cheese, 3 Cans of vegetables (green beans, sweet potatoes/yams), 2 Packages of (cornbread) dressing, 3 Cans of fruit, Cake Mix with Frosting, Muffin or Biscuit Mix, Can of turkey gravy, 2 Cans of Cranberry Sauce.  And always Peanut Butter & Jelly, Cereal, Juice and Candy.

Household products like Mr. Clean, detergent, soaps, toiletries are always welcome as well.

As we all know, the cost of food has risen over the last year.  Please keep a look out for BOGO items in the grocery stores.

Please drop all bags back to Melody Ness by November 7.

Thank you for making Thanksgiving y a brighter holiday for the less fortunate in our larger community and apologies for the late notice.
