Paddling Six Mile Creek

By Peter Clayton

Seven of us ventured out once it warmed sufficiently and were rewarded with a beautiful day, pristine surroundings and even some wildlife sightings – an otter and numerous birds including a pileated woodpecker.

The launch at Trail Mark is wide enough to accommodate any boat including all of ours. It was a 2 and1/2 hour paddle with the breeze at our backs on the return. Lunch at Outback Crab Shack capped off an excellent outing.

Next week we’re looking at Trout Creek and Woodpeckers for lunch – let me know if you’re interested.

  1. Hi Peter, I love your pictures. Being a girl I know I can’t join your group, so I’m going on a Kayaking trip in the Everglades 2/2-2/7 with Road Scholars. I hope I have as much fun as your group does. Lindsey Smith 862 Summer Bay Drive
