Congratulations, Marsh Creek, for a 2nd successful Night of Lights!
Streets from one end of the community to the other were awash in lights last night, kicked off by the helping hand of a rosy red sunset from Mother Nature.
With only a few isolated exceptions, most of our community dove into the effort. Kudos to homeowners who set a Christmas tableau with, in some cases, extravagant lights and decorations around their homes! And this effort produced one of those few “exceptions”: in front of some of these brilliantly decorated homes, a curbside luminary would have been no match and a few homeowners, but not all, opted out.
On other streets, where white bags did line the curbs, the results varied from bright “airport runway”, to a barely noticeable flicker, or in the words of the Spoonbill Courier’s Luminary Reporter, “more bag than light”. Perhaps organizers can come up with a “brighter” community standard for next year, and maybe one of our technically-inclined readers can leave them such a suggestion below.
Kudos to Louise Nelson who again honcho’ed this community effort, and who in turn thanks her Spoonbill Neighbors elves for their efforts:
Maureen Barber, Mike Blaker, Helen Borisoff, Peter Clayton, Mary Ellen Danielson, Donna Delzingaro, Brenda Fenech-Soler, Penny Jones, Nina LaFleur, Lorri Maloney, Brian Nelson, Tim Nichols, Maria Ortiz, Stan & Christine Penton, and Jana Synatschk.
Now, here is a great slideshow of pictures from the community last night, with contributions from Deborah Coates, Mohammed Mirzai, and the Spoonbill Courier’s in-house photographer.
