Northeast Florida has some of the best kayaking destinations in the US, and eleven years ago, the Marsh Creek Kayakers, a men-only group, was formed to explore these sites.
We venture as far west as Tallahassee to paddle new rivers and creeks often taking three-day, two-night trips to do so – obviously the pandemic has curtailed those outings. However, we also do a variety of local paddles from the Vilano Bridge ramp to downtown and to Deep Creek at the intersection of SR 206 & 207.
During the last week of October, we drove an hour SSE to paddle Disston Lake (see photos).
