Memorial Day 2025 seemed to slip up quietly this year. And then, the spell was broken with one vitriolic message from a VERY senior government official who chose to attack political enemies and not mention the men and women in uniform who gave their lives for this country. Let’s not repeat that mistake and keep American service men and women, past, present, and future, in our thoughts as we enjoy this special day.
What else would you expect from this “very senior official”? Compassion? No. Understanding? No. Capacity to see that honor and patriotism are things that most of us feel. No. A military parade to honor his birthday? Of course! Memorial Day was originally meant to honor the 600,000+ soldiers who died in the Civil War, both north and south. It’s a day to cherish the fallen who made this country what it is today. No one can take this away from us.
Actually ,if you are speaking about the President, he gave praise both at the graduation and on Memorial Day.
