Brian,
I have crucial information that every Marsh Creek resident should receive regarding Commissioner Jeremiah Blocker, who is up for reelection. I attended the May 17 commissioner meeting which voted on whether to permit the Hutson Companies’ expansion of their Silverleaf development. The link below is the notification I received of this meeting.

Using information from this notification, I emailed the commissioners, and read my email to them at the May 17 meeting. Many people attended the meeting, and many gave detailed reasons for opposing the expanded development. At least 90% of attendees requested that the commissioners oppose this development. However, of the 5 commissioners, only one, Paul Waldron, opposed the development. From their responses to the Hutson Companies’ advocate, it was plain that the other 4 commissioners had no interest in heeding the opposition voiced by county residents. After the meeting, I learned that the commissioners had received campaign funding from Travis Hutson and his development companies.
Two of these commissioners are up for reelection: Jeremiah Blocker and Sarah Arnold. Neither one of them showed any interest in considering residents’ arguments against the development. It is imperative that Marsh Creek residents receive the information that I’m providing before Commissioner Blocker visits our community on June 14th.
After the meeting I received campaign cards promoting 2 candidates for commissioner who oppose uncontrolled development in our county. One is Krista Keating-Joseph, for District 4 (ElectKrista.com). On her campaign card she states:
Slow down growth in St. Johns County. No sales tax increase. No to taxpayers paying for developer-caused infrastructure needs.
I know nothing more about this candidate, and I’m not campaigning for a political party. I’m providing true and essential information that every Marsh Creek resident should know. Please forward this email to everyone in Marsh Creek.
Thank you,
Michael Read
(P.S. Let me know if you don’t receive the link.)
Thank you, Michael.
