Picturing a Nation: American Art from the Lightner Museum
Picturing a Nation is a major installation of American paintings and sculpture from the Lightner Museum’s permanent collection. From America’s great vistas and natural wonders, to intimate scenes of St. Augustine, Picturing a Nation presents a vibrant vision of America on a local and national scale through late-19th and early 20th century American art. The exhibition runs through September 30, 2022. Lightner Museum is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily and tickets are $17 for adults, $14 for seniors and students and $10 ages 12-17, under 11 are free. Bouke de Vries: War & Pieces at Lightner Museum
This exhibition of London-based Dutch artist Bouke De Vries’ War & Pieces has been described as a “masterwork” by art critics. The monumental artwork, crafted from thousands of fragments of porcelain, reimagines the decorative centerpieces that adorned seventeenth- and eighteenth-century banquet tables. Martha Ferguson: Beyond the Crowds at Lightner Museum

Undercurrents Exhibition at Crisp-Ellert Museum Gallery
This exhibition brings together the work of ten international artists that explore the human condition in the midst of climate change. The featured artworks shift from photographs of disrupted, flooded landscapes to films exploring our ties to the natural world. The exhibit is open Monday – Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday noon -4 p.m., through June 17. Admission is free. 2022 Old School Kingfish Shootout
The 2022 Old School Kingfish Shootout in Vilano Beach presented by Yellowfin levels the playing field by allowing fishing in Florida state waters only (3 nautical miles from shore). Friday there will be a mandatory captains’ meeting at 7 p.m. Tournament and weigh-in is on Saturday with an awards ceremony on Sunday. The tournament is based out of Vilano Beach and registration is $250-$400. Martha Ferguson: Fundamentals of Painting Workshop at Lightner Museum
Join a painting workshop led by local artist, Martha Ferguson. This workshop will cover the basic elements of painting and how to get started. The session take place 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and will begin with a demonstration, and will review composition and design principles using notans and thumbnail sketches. Students will be guided through a painting session. Martha will be demonstrating and working in oil paints. Participants may use the paint medium of their choice. Pre-registration is required. The cost is $125 to Non-Members and $115 to members. The workshop takes place in the Radzinski Family Garden. A boxed lunch from the Cafe Alcazar will be provided. Family Seining at the GTM Research Reserve
Hosted by the GTM Research Reserve, you’re invited to join docents from 9-11 a.m. to learn how to pull a seine net. Participants will collect fish and crabs as well as learn about their habitats and role in the environment. Waders and boots provided. Join living history interpreters from the Historic Florida Militia as they present a timeline of St. Augustine’s colonial history from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The saunter begins at the north end of St. George Street and makes its way south to the Plaza. Interpreters answer questions related to St. Augustine’s history and pose for pictures.
