Spoonbill Neighbors GoGo (Girls Out Goofing Off) First Adventure:
Chocolate you say?
Truffles you say?
Louise was afraid she’d fail.
Donna, on the other hand, made sure no remnants of the scrumptious chocolate morsels remained.
Linda, (who tried to hide the fact that she was a former Home-Ec teacher) was outed after creating perfect, round, proper sized truffles.
Meanwhile, Mary Ellen, Jenni, Sharon, Lorri & Lisa were along for the ride!
Our story begins with Megan, our Crème de la Cocoa instructor.
She first presented each “student” with three glorious mounds of ganache, or, a form of icing made from semi-sweet chocolate and cream. One was dark, the next milk chocolate, and the third was white chocolate.
Also on the table was an assortment of sprinkles: cocoa powder, coconut, chopped and toasted hazelnuts, crushed ice cream cone bits, and more shaved chocolate.
And then Megan just left us on our own.
So, with little further direction, we all got creative. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, please see below! But they can’t tell you about how good these tasted, especially from us amateurs!!
PS – If you want a truffle recipe, I published Pat King’s recipe here in the Spoonbill Courier in December. It will knock your socks off! https://spoonbillcourier.com/baileys-chocolate-truffles/
Bon Appetit!
