Hello Marsh Creekers!
Summer’s here! Unusually hot and humid days in June, so keep hydrated, find shade, and enjoy!
Now here are highlights from June!
Happy Hour was held at the home of Donna & Frank Delzingaro. It was a lovely evening of neighborhood friends, creative appetizers, and a wide assortment of wine and cocktails. Happy Hour is such a fun group, and new and good friendships made each month. Thanks for your hospitality, Donna & Frank! Next one in September!
The Wine Lovers gang met up at Kris & Scott Brunke’s home. The wine selection was rose this time. Each guest brought a different bottle, talked a bit about the region from where it came and why they liked it. As is customary, attendees contributed tasty appetizers and joined in increasingly fun, interesting conversations. Thank you, Kris & Scott.
The Garden Club met at Lowe’s, where Group Leader Helen Borisoff helped everyone select new plants for their gardens and yards. No pix, unfortunately.
The Book Club was held at Dianna Christakos’ home. Under discussion was a terrific novel, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. It is a gentle yet symbolic depiction of the valiant survival of Kya Clark—a reclusive young girl who has been abandoned by her parents in the marshes of the deep south. Betrayal, murder, survival, nature, and the trauma of loss were discussed at length. Highly recommend this book. The dialogue became so interesting, we also forgot to take pictures. ☹ Thank you, Dianna, for leading the conversation.
The Lunch Bunch sat down at Paisanos, the new Italian pizzeria at Cobblestone. Plenty of conversation and camaraderie, as usual, with this group. Photo quality not good, so again, no photos from this event. Thank you, Debbie & Pattie, for leading this event.
The Dining In Group C met at the home of Joanne Naglieri & Gerry Kurth. The meal began with an appetizer of prosciutto wrapped mozzarella & basil, along with cheese and crackers. A delicious pork tenderloin, potatoes & broccoli casserole and roasted beets were served. The dessert was scrumptious baklava, the famed Greek dessert of layered pastry made of filo dough with chopped nuts and honey. Perfect way to end a meal. Thank you, Joanna & Gerry, for your warm hospitality.
