Marsh Creek Partners with Homeless Coalition for Easter

By Louise Nelson

Melody Ness, a Spoonbill Neighbor, spearheaded another successful neighborhood food drive, making Easter a brighter holiday for the less fortunate in our larger community. Marsh Creek residents donated ingredients for Easter dinners. These donations were collected and disbursed to the Homeless Coalition and other groups under Melody’s guidance. Melody’s message follows:

“Thank you to the Spoonbill Neighbors for the generous donation of food and supplies. Saturday, 27 bags of groceries were taken to a home for young men who are recovering from addiction. Sixty-five bags were taken to the Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition on Chapin Street. The food delivery there coincided with an Easter Egg Hunt coordinated by MCWA Outreach. In addition to the non-perishable groceries, families received a Publix Gift Card from Trinity Episcopal Church. It is a pleasure to work with friends and neighbors with such generous hearts. Thank you!

Heads Up! The next community food drive will be the “Thanksgiving Share the Feast Drive“. Remember to shop for BOGO items.
