GTM Walk March 2/22
Sue Whittle led the way on a tour/hike in the GTM (Guana Tolomato Matanzas), the 76,760 acre National Estuarine Research Reserve. There are four well-marked trails ranging from 1.1 miles to 2.8 and all easy walks. It was a beautiful day.
Arts & Crafts: March 5th
It was a day learning about different kinds of glass, dichroic glass in particular, and the team assembled pendants and earrings. Our instructor then used her kiln to fuse the different glasses. Lots of fun!
Dining Out Couples: March 10
Dinner (below) at Amici’s, the Italian restaurant on the island. On hand were Lori Maloney, Christine & Stan Penton, Pattie & John Nolton, Ken & Sharon Wasmer, Mike Blaker & Jana Synatschk and Steve & Pam Champney. A tasty dinner with delightful ambiance!
Wine Lovers: Cabernet Group: March 12
Christie & Stan Penton hosted this evening (below). The wine selections were Cabernets, presented and sampled by guests. Discussion of grapes, hints of berries & chocolate… One in particular wine was described as tasting “like dirt”… terroir peut-etre? The appetizers were delicious; everything from lobster rolls to Greek gyros to pates… everyone enjoyed themselves.
Lunch/Bunch: March 16
A most enjoyable gathering at Cortesse’s Bistro. Mixed reviews about the food, some dishes were delicious, some okay. The setting was lovely and company always makes the meal! Debbie and Pattie did their best to control the camaraderie, but to no avail. Lots of fun!
