Spoonbill Neighbors Takes Shape

The first organizational meeting of the Spoonbill Neighbors was held on July 7th. So far there are 33 members. All residents of Marsh Creek are welcome to join any of our interest groups. Some already have enough interest and leadership to begin meeting. These include :

Welcome committee (members who will put together a package of important information to give to new neighbors, and visit them to answer any questions).

Happy Hour ( meeting  in  neighbor’s homes for cocktails and appetizers with a particular theme). This group will meet on chosen Friday nights, 5:00-6:30, on a first sign-up basis, limiting it to 30 people each month.

Dining Out (this group already has  6 interested couples and co chairs willing to schedule dinners out  at various area restaurants).

Dining In Dinner Group (groups of 3-4 couples that will meet in member’s homes and share a meal). The hostess will rotate, it will meet at regular intervals and each member will contribute a dish to the meal.

Lunch Bunch ( this group will meet monthly at a local restaurant for lunch). There is plenty of interest in this group but it needs a leader to begin functioning.

Other groups that are available include: outreach, arts and craft; games; book club; outings and walking.

If you are interested in joining Spoonbill Neighbors and in  any of these groups please contact Meri-Kathryn Peed (MKPeed@aol.com)  or Louise Nelson (lzn@mindspring.com) . Please include in your Email;  your name, phone number, and physical address.

We are excited about finding new and exciting ways to get to know each other.
