The 2021 Hurricane season officially began a month ago today, and Tropical Storm Elsa is already heading our way.
NOAA’s storm forecast has Florida in its sights, on a bulls-eye trajectory that would, at this moment, 2PM Thursday July 1, take the storm right up through the state on Tuesday.
Plenty could change between now and then, as tropical storm veterans know. But, as we get further into the 2021 Hurricane season, this would be a pretty good time to review your household’s disaster plan.
And a good start would be to download and read the St. Johns County Hurricane Preparedness Guide. To get it, click HERE.
And continue to pay attention to the weather forecasts and not get caught surprised.
On Spoonbill Courier’s top banner, under Today’s Weather, is a link that immediately takes you to the National Hurricane Center forecast page. Remember it’s always there and it’s quick.
Thank you for this warning, Brian. I’m going to reread the directions for using the portable generator I bought last year but haven’t used yet. Hope I still won’t have to use it!
