Well, Marsh Creek. An organizing snafu gave us only 5 days for this year’s Easter Food Drive for the St. Johns County Homeless Coalition. It could have been a failure but it wasn’t. A bunch of generous residents heard the call and immediately went shopping. And time wasn’t the only challenge. Although ham is an Easter favorite, canned ham needing no refrigeration was scarce, causing some to search far and wide for some.

In the end, last Thursday, we delivered about 30 bags chock full of food items suitable for Easter dinners (and more) to the charity’s Chapin Street campus.

“It was lovely, and just enough to go around”, said Debi Redding, the Coalition Director.
