Spoonbill Neighbors 4th Easter Feast Food Drive is getting off to a late start – please hurry.

By Louise Nelson
Due to an operational error (i.e. a goof) we have just received our supply of this year’s shopping bags and a list of needed food items requested by the kind folks at the Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County. For the fourth year, we are appealing to Marsh Creek residents to join us in stuffing these bags with Easter food items for the homeless under the Coalition’s roof.
Where do I Get a Bag?
They can be picked up at Louise Nelson’s home on 209 Fiddlers Point Drive. For everyone’s convenience the bags are in the wooden box on the front porch.

Where do I Return the Bags?
All bags can be returned to either Louise Nelson’s home on 209 Fiddlers Point Drive … or Melody Ness’ home at 401 Misty Morning Lane … or at Patty Damon’s home at 408 Players Court.
THE DEADLINE IS April 15th. (Yes, Tax Day. But who needs your generosity more? The government or the homeless?)
The bags will be collected and delivered to the Homeless Coalition.
Are There Enough Bags?
If we run out of bags – (and we hope we do) – everyone can simply fill their own and deliver it to either location above.

What Items are Needed?
There will be a list of requested items on each bag. But here are some standard items always welcomed:
Boxed Mac & Cheese / Canned Corn / Canned Green Beans / Canned Pineapple / Jello & Canned Fruit / Instant Potatoes, any variety / Cake Mix & Frosting / Easter Candy / Muffin, Roll or Biscuit Mix / Peanut Butter, Jelly & Juice / Canned Meat or Fish.
And don’t worry about being too generous. All surplus food items will be donated to the St. Johns County Food Pantry which continues the good work year-round.
Can I Give Cash Instead? Or Cash Too?
If you wish, and your schedule or capability precludes shopping for these items, cash donations can be made directly to the St. Johns County Homeless Coalition at https://homelesscoalitionstjohns.com.
Thank you for helping the less fortunate in our community celebrate an Easter meal.
And Happy Easter!
