From River to Ocean: The 200th Anniversary Photography Exhibition

The 200th Anniversary Photography Exhibition titled “From River to Ocean” will be on display 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday- Friday, through January 3, 2022. Local photographers submitted photography depicting five districts throughout St. Johns County and photos were chosen by a panel to be part of this exhibit. Exhibition: Mirages at Crisp-Ellert Art Museum

Mirages brings together the work of Atterbury, Bourque-LaFrance, and Cowan for the first time. Though geographically separated (in Portland, Maine, Los Angeles, and Berkeley, CA) their conversations over the last year have helped to shape the trajectory of this exhibition. The exhibition title makes reference to the process through which each of these artists transforms materials and objects (wood, paint, images, rope, canvas, aluminum, photography) in order to reinterpret and reimagine the familiar. The artists embrace a simple premise: can a thing be a thing but also another thing? Exhibit hours are Monday – Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is free. Erika Sobrack: Suburban Echoes at Lightner Museum

Lightner Museum presents Ericka Sobrack: Suburban Echoes as the final Lightner Local exhibition of 2021 series. Sobrack’s small-scale landscape paintings focus on domestic scenes of suburban America. Shrouded in darkness, the paintings deconstruct familiar environments, creating dream-like settings that amplify feelings of anticipation, angst, and trepidation. The exhibition runs through October 18. Lightner Museum is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily and tickets are $17 for adults, $14 for seniors and students and $10 ages 12-17, under 11 are free. Women Who Made a Difference Exhibit at Lincolnville Museum & Cultural Center

This exhibit highlights local black women who overcame great obstacles through courage and determination. Featuring local St. Augustinians: Katherine Twine, Mildred Parsons Mason Larkins, Debbie McDade, Janie Young and Barbara Vickers; these women served as teachers, nurses, entertainers, business leaders and community activists. The exhibit includes biographical sketches, personal interviews and shared stories from those whose lives they touched, photographs and other memorabilia from their journeys.
