2025 Food Drive Nears Completion

Louise Nelson

Just a friendly reminder, the Fourth Annual Share the Feast Food Drive is coming to a close.  Details below on how you can help the less fortunate in our community enjoy a Thanksgiving Meal.  There is still time!

Thank you!

Fourth Thanksgiving Share the Feast Food Drive is under way!

The supply of shopping bags and a list of needed food items requested by the kind folks at the Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County, have arrived! For the fourth year, we are appealing to Marsh Creek residents to join us in stuffing these bags with Thanksgiving food items for the homeless.

Where do I pick up a bag?

Melody Ness’s home on 401 Misty Morning Lane,  or

Louise Nelson’s home on 209 Fiddlers Point Drive.

For everyone’s convenience, the bags will be in the wooden box on the Nelson front porch. Each bag will go to a designated family and come with specific food item suggestions.

Where do I return a bag?

THREE LOCATIONS:

  1. Louise Nelson on 209 Fiddlers Point Drive
  1. Melody Ness on 401 Misty Morning Lane
  1. Patty Damon on 408 Players Ct.

Please leave the bags on the porch if no one is home.

Please return bags by Nov. 23rd

All the donated food bags will be delivered to the Homeless Coalition at 1pm on Monday November 24th, in time for Thanksgiving.

What if we run out of bags?

If we run out of bags – and we hope, we do – just fill a bag of your own with some of the items below and deliver it to one of the locations above.

What Items are Needed?

Boxed Mac & Cheese / Canned Corn, Green Beans, Carrots or seasoned greens/ Jello & Canned Fruit / Instant Mashed Potatoes, any variety / Cake Mix & Frosting / Mayo/ Pork and Beans/Rice, stuffing mix or hot rolls mix/ Gravy mix/Candy / Muffin, Roll or Biscuit Mix / Peanut Butter and jelly/ Juice / Canned Meat or Fish/ Mayo.  Also needed are Shampoo, Toothpaste & toothbrushes/ Soap bars/ Dishwashing liquid.

Can I give cash instead, or cash as well?

If you wish, and your schedule or capability precludes shopping for these items, cash donations can be made directly to the St. Johns County Homeless Coalition at https://homelesscoalitionstjohns.com.

All your generosity will be put to good use. Surplus food will be donated to the St. Johns County Food Pantry and benefit other homeless single adults and veterans.

Thank you for helping the less fortunate in our community celebrate a Thanksgiving Meal.
