Celebrating its twelfth season, the Saint Augustine Film Festival returns to downtown St. Augustine venues from January 20-23, 2022 featuring more than 50 independent and international films.  The Saint Augustine Film Festival is organized by Gregory von Hausch, the CEO of the acclaimed Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival who says, “We are so excited to be back with in-person screenings in beautiful downtown St. Augustine and enjoying film festival openings and parties.” For 2021, the Film Festival went completely virtual in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some virtual options will still be available for those who may not be quite ready to join the festival in person.  Dramas, comedies, and documentaries from the US and all over the world are chosen by talented independent filmmakers, giving The Saint Augustine Film Festival a reputation for showing films that aren’t usually available in North Florida.  See all 50 films in-person and virtually for $90 or snag an All-Access pass for $150. VIBRANT CULTURE & RHYTHM

On May 7, 2022, the Ancient City’s original Latin American Festival returns to Francis Field! Experience a day full of beautiful culture, music, dance, food, workshops, performances, activities, and so much more. The main stage will feature music and dance groups throughout the day with a mixture of styles from across Latin America. Watch five artists paint murals throughout the day and vote for your favorite. What festival is complete without food? Authentic Latin American food trucks and vendors will be on site to showcase the distinctive style and range of Latin food. The marketplace has been expanded from 48 to 75 vendors selling international crafts, textiles, and other merchandise. Look forward to games like soccer darts, tejo, Aztec Ball Game, piñatas, dominos, and more.  Bring your dancing shoes and dive deeper into the culture while local and regional acts celebrate the rhythm of Latin America with performances and dance workshops. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $60 for VIP which includes meet & greets, stage access, private tables under the canopy, private bathrooms, VIP bar, Latin American-inspired hors d’oeuvres by a local chef, and even more activities and performances.

Returning to the World Golf Hall of Fame and World Golf Village Renaissance Resort May 4-8, 2022, The St. Augustine Food + Wine Festival is a culinary celebration taking place in one of the country’s most beautiful and historic cities. Listed as one of the Top Ten Food & Wine Festivals in Florida by USA Today, this showcase of culinary, beverage, and culture highlights celebrity guest chefs, celebrity winemakers and proprietors, local chefs, artisans, and local craft spirits and beers. The second annual festival offers a wide variety of events for all tastebuds, from wine dinners and tasting events, to epicurean masterclasses, and more. Joining the festival this year is world-renowned chef, author, restauranteur, and the world’s first female Iron Chef, Cat Cora! MUSIC IS IN THE AIR

The inaugural Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series is a collection of six memorable performances honoring both the rich history of American music and the legacy of the first free Black settlement in what is now the United States. In the course of three weekends, from February 18-26, 2022, world-class artists like Tank & The Bangas, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and Gregory Porter will grace the stages to celebrate these two incredible genres of music at Fort Mose Historic State Park. Ticket prices range from $40-$120 and proceeds will support the construction of an on-site fort representation and development of interpretive resources. The original fort was destroyed during the Battle of Bloody Mose in 1740.       From January 14th until April 29th, the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center presents Jazz at the Excelsior 2022 showcasing jazz through the ages from its African roots to the fusion sounds of the millennia in this historic St. Augustine neighborhood of Lincolnville. Tickets are $25 and each show begins at 7:30 PM. Renowned for her powerful, sultry, and soulful vocals, Akia Uwanda has performed at distinguished venues like Carnegie Hall and will close the jazz series on April 29th at the Lincolnville Museum.

CELTIC SOUNDS & FLAVORS

Did you know America’s first St. Patrick’s Day parade took place in St. Augustine’s historic district in 1600? Each year, the St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival celebrates the sights, sounds, and flavors of four and a half centuries of Celtic history. Scottish and Irish clans from around the world show their ancestral pride with handmade crafts, Celtic cuisine, workshops, and more. See athletes demonstrate their mind-boggling strength during the Highland Games, sample Irish whiskeys and scotches, and don’t miss the St. Patrick Parade on opening day! Enjoy Scottish and Irish bands playing traditional tunes and modernized renditions of the ancient Celtic music throughout the two-day festival. Seven Nations, Scottish-born Albannach, and Ireland’s Dublin City Ramblers attract fans from all over the world.  The festival returns on March 12 & 13 at Francis Field. General admission is $12.50, or get VIP tickets for $80 to enjoy the festival all weekend, two free beers or wine, VIP bar and restrooms, and special seating at the main stage.
